AU NOIR

René Char wrote: “Black is the colour of the impossible brought to life”.

For me, too, black is a colour, even the brightest one. Its vibration comes from all the wavelengths captured in the painted matter. Black means intensity and dazzle produced by the stroke, while I am drawing on the whiteness of paper, or engraving a copper plate. In my collagraphs, the same swing appears in the matter deposited on the cardboard before printing. In drawing or engraving, I express an inmediate and direct relationship with the world of vegetable, its endless transformations and affinities with organic matter or minerals.
